Files are read in your browser and nothing is sent from them — neither the file nor its text. What you sync between your own devices is encrypted with a key generated on your device, so we read from it neither an entity’s name nor a figure. We keep one copy of that key wrapped in your password so that you can recover your vault on another device — so the strength of your password is the strength of the wrapper.

Nothing is issued that does not close

Blocking checks stand in the way of issuing until they are resolved: a statement of financial position that does not balance, a base that broke its limit, or a return with not a single item entered.

The Implementing Regulations for Zakat Collection in the edition in force — and its articles are cited by number with every line computed, not in a general footnote.

A quarter of a tenth for a Hijri year, divided over 354 days and multiplied by the days of the period — so a Gregorian year takes its correct share rather than a rounded one.

The base is bounded by two limits: the floor of amended net profit and the ceiling of equity. Whatever falls outside its limit is held at it, and you are told which of the two governed.

It has no official standing and no affiliation with any authority. It is private work: it does not belong to any official or governmental body, it is neither approved nor licensed by one, and nobody obliges you to use it — the reference for what is binding and how it is interpreted is the competent authority and its regulations.
An attempt, not a certainty — and every output is reviewed. It is an attempt to provide a calculation tool; it is not necessarily correct, and it does not take the place of the opinion of those with expertise and standing. So treat everything that comes out of it as wrong until you establish its correctness by your own review and audit.
It is not a fatwa. It computes according to what the Regulations provide, and it does not give religious rulings.
Statements scanned as images are not read automatically. No figure is extracted from what has no text in it; you enter those items by hand, and you are told which pages are images rather than text.
Banks and finance companies are computed under other rules — the “Rules for Calculating the Zakat on Financing Activities”, which set another basis for the base and two limits measured as multiples of net income. This engine does not apply them. And insurance companies have not yet been calibrated against their own statements.
The return is not filed on your behalf. It comes out prepared on the Authority’s form, and the filing remains in your hands through their portal.
